I am born in Atlanta, but was raised in Taiwan since age of 4. I am pursuing two masters degree in Actuarial Science and Mathematical Risk Management. I am Luka Kublashvili from Republic of Georgia. I am currently pursuing my MS in Mathematical Risk Management (MRM) at Georgia State University. Prior to beginning the MRM program I earned my Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Finance from Georgia State in May 2011. I have had a number of internships that have helped me gain a degree of practical experience that has reinforced what I learned through my studies. The most recent internship was at Dalton Management Partners (hedge-fund in Atlanta) that provided me with an understanding of financial modeling, valuation of financial instruments and portfolio analytics.
I grew up on a farm in Kansas and moved to Atlanta at the age of 21. At 22, I started my own
decorative painting business that became very successful and kept me moving from job to job, up and down the east coast. When the flow of business dried up during the onset of the recession, I decided to go back to college and chose a degree in finance because I wanted to learn how to invest the money I
had earned, and I absolutely love math. I took advantage of the many opportunities Georgia State has to offer, which presented even more opportunities beyond that. This led to my job that I currently hold as a portfolio analyst at the family financial planning firm, St. John & Associates.
